Storm Clouds Over Dunes, Death Valley, CA

This is one of the latest images I have taken of the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley National Park. It is not often when there are storm clouds hovering over the dunes and mountains in Death Valley. But I was lucky enough to be there one morning when there were storm clouds. I waited for the sun to come through the clouds to give me some contrast between the lit-up sand and the shadows. After about 10 minutes a quick sun burst came shining through the clouds, lighting up a single dune for a couple of seconds. I took this image and then waited another half hour for more sunshine, but there was no subsequent sunshine that day! At least I was lucky enough to get that one ray!
