Description: This image is of one of the many street scenes I took in Santiago. The white wood door frames on the balcony have a good contrast to the weathered, dark look of the stone walls that make up most of the city architecture. I took many "street scenes" in the week I was in Santiago, but this one stands out because of the rounded archway contrasting with the rectangular doors. Almost all of the streets in Santiago have these archways for pedestrians to use, as it rains a great deal of the year in this city. The rain also adds to the old, weathered look of the walls and ground in the city. |
