Below Yosemite Falls

This image was taken during the winter, when there was very little water coming off of Yosemite Falls. The striations in the granite walls looked like veins to me, and the rocks in the pool seemed almost alive, swimming with their tops just above the water. I printed the water down to contrast with the rocks. It was most difficult to get to the cliff wall to take this picture. The boulders, that were usually under water, were difficult to climb over, especially with my 4x5 view camera on it's tripod slung over my shoulder! Getting a good footing for the tripod when I took the photograph was also a challenge. But I think the effort was more than worth it!
