El Capitan Meadow Walking Trees

The fallen branches that are standing in the center of this image have been photographed by many photographers over the years, until they finally fell to the ground in 1993. I first saw them when I took a workshop with Ray McSaveney. He called them "Walking Trees" and so, to honor his imagination, I use the name he gave them. This photograph was taken in the early morning, and the dark tree barks and tree shadows give the photograph more depth.
